Things you need to know if you want to start powerlifting. If you have not Googled it already, powerlifting is a strength sport that consist of three lifts: squat, bench, and deadlift. With that said, I am not going to get into the history of powerlifting. Search the web and you get the idea. I am here to offer my opinion about what you should do if you want to start powerlifting.

  1. Learn the three lifts and practice them. You don’t need a program right away. Just practice the movement.
  2. Build the muscle. Barbell, dumbbell, machine, and isolation.
  3. Perfect your technique.
  4. Think long term.
